Whose Music they believe has grown and have more band chemistry.

“When we started we were young guys with passionate vocals, having met the rest of our team our showmanship has grown to better heights”.

They believe that they come alive on stage and are no longer as timid. So, what makes them Third Hand Music?

1. Whose work are you following at the moment?
We have really been experimenting with different sounds and different vibes. We have been watching a lot of arrangement bands. But we love ‘Dirty-loops ‘ they are musical geniuses. In the   African scene, we are really impressed with Sauti Sol and we are following what they are doing in terms of re-invention and marketing.

2. What are you working on at the moment?

We are currently working on our album, working on an assortment of songs. When we collect enough, we will sort which song makes it to the album. We are also working on more releases this period.

Collins Kipchirchir Kemboi

3. Where do you get your motivation from?

We get our motivation from our fans. “3hmovement” family is really growing everyday and they just give us so much positive vibes and always remind us of the reasons why we are doing all this. We’ve also been getting tips and guidance from our mentors like Big Ted. They keep us sane in the industry.

4. How do you handle discouragements?

Well, we are still learning how to shake off negativity. When it comes to discouragement we just share and vent it out in our meetings. Plus also having close friends in the industry helps as they understand the struggle.

5. Best advice given? What advice would you give me?

a) Best advice ever given to us was a year ago. We got privileged to have a sit in with Big Ted and Dj Styles in our rehearsals. They told us that “Talent gets you noticed, but your discipline keeps you in the game” We’ve followed that ever since.

b) The advice we’d give you right now is… “It might get really tough for you when following your dream, especially when nobody around you gets it, but when those times come, always have someone to remind you why you started.

Mwikamba Chara

6. How much wood would a wood chuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? 😀

😀 😀 😀  So much wood!… (Good one, we didn’t see that coming) Haha!

7. Your plans for the future?

To grow our brand to the next levels. That will definitely take patience and hard work, but we believe God has our backs. We definitely have more projects out. And other snappy things that we’ll surprise our fans with.

8. What’s your ultimate direction for your band?

As a band, we made a promise to our self to create a different movement in our fan base, we hope to give them a different flavor. One should meet a person in the streets in future and just by their traits and out look to life, tell they listen to 3HM

9. Are you seeking fame and fortune?

We aren’t really seeking fame but if our story telling and art form gets us the recognition in future, we will be glad and use it to change the face of the game.

Ken-Albert Orwa

10. Who writes your songs?

We all write our songs, but Collo writes a lot. He is really fast with melodies and ideas. Then Ken brings it to life by adding chord work and instrumental arrangement. Mike is really good at resigning lyrics to bring out the emotion. So, its a team effort.

11.Do you think your theme of songs will change over time?

Definitely, we are growing and our narrative of life is changing everyday. And since our writing is diary based. We will definitely channel what we are feeling at a specific period.
